To say we’re thrilled to have Mapel Boutique on board with Boutiika is an understatement.

“Step inside locally-owned Mapel Boutique and you’ll immediately love our casually chic vibe. We strive to provide our customers with an interactive, fun shopping experience that you won’t find anywhere else. We say it’s like spending time with your best friend: it’s relaxing, fun, inviting, unique and personal,” says Maizy Tenner, Mapel’s PR specialist.

From weddings to vacations, Mapel has the dress you’re on the hunt for. We especially love this boutique because the garments at Mapel embody excellent fit, sound construction and styling that will last longer than one season. After talking with Maizy, here are 5 things you should know about this great boutique:

Q: What makes Mapel unique?

Maizy: In addition to our topnotch service, at Mapel you’ll find clothing, jewelry, accessories, and more from amazing local and independent designers, as well as from your favorite brands: Veronica M Dresses, 7 For All Mankind and Michael Stars.  These are a few of owner Staci Stevens’ favorite brands, too, that she says embody excellent fit, sound construction and styling that will last longer than one season, defining Mapel’s style.

Q: Who is Mapel’s buyer?

Maizy: Staci Stevens, owner of Mapel Boutique, travels quarterly to L.A. to buy from the seasons top designers and to visit Mapel’s brand showrooms. Most retailers go to markets like CALA or Coterie and often times at markets you are reviewing product alongside other retailers, and have little time to look at product. That’s why Staci prefers to travel on her own schedule and visit individually with our reps. She has unlimited time to peruse the product without the commotion of the markets. It really allows Mapel to review previous seasons best sellers and choose the best product for Mapel Boutique.

For S/S, Staci started her first day visiting the 7 For All Mankind showroom because it’s Mapel’s biggest and best selling denim brand. In addition to 7’ she visited Citizens of Humanity, Joe’s Jeans and a new brand line we’ll be adding called Blank NYC. Blank will offer a slightly more fashion forward denim assortment (coated, colored, novelty) at a moderate price level (below $100).

Q: What is Mapel’s shopper like?

Maizy: She is fun to be around, lives an active life, and works hard for the things she loves. The Mapel customer is looking for styles that she can wear effortlessly and look fabulous in. She has a busy life style and wears clothes that fit well and look great. Without fail, we sell out of our Veronica M dresses every season. Our shoppers love these because her dresses are the perfect fusion of classic styles and colorful vintage patterns. Her brand is synonymous with fun and bold prints.

Q: What is Mapel’s favorite summer trend?

Maizy: This summer Mapel is in Love with the softer pastels colors like mint, coral and lemon. We are loving the midi dress length and still can’t get enough of the maxi dress silhouette with a drop waist. We like to mix feminine frills like lace with a hint of edge like faux leather.

Q: What is your fall fashion forecast?

Maizy: This fall Mapel is Very Excited about our outerwear collection. We see a shift in womens wear dressing towards statement outerwear that has new shape with unexpected seaming, longer lengths and comes in a variety of repeat pattern prints. Our color palette is based on 50 shades of green and grey (yep- green takes on a new identity this fall with hints of grey in the color). Skinny jeans are still going strong and our bolder customers will be pairing them with over the knee boots.

We can’t wait for our yummy cozy sweaters to arrive- with lofty yarns and slightly oversized silhouettes. This fall will be one of our best seasons yet with the balanced mix of feminine and statement dressing.
